Weekend Visitation

From the back seat of the car, Chrissy peered out the window. Customers strolled in and out of the grocery store.

“Can we go inside?” she asked.

“He will be here soon,” her mother replied.

A tow truck pulled into the parking lot and stopped beside the store. Her father hopped out of the truck and walked toward the car. Chrissy climbed out, teddy bear and overnight bag in hand.

“Bye, bye, sweetie,” her mother said. “I’ll see you Sunday.”
